Understand your calculation

Underfloor heating calculation: area, pipe and loops

Underfloor heating, water-based underfloor heating and radiant floor heating refer here to a hydronic pipe network. Enter room areas, levels and distances to estimate the required length of PE-RT 16 × 2 mm pipe. The calculator plans continuous loops, 240 or 600 m coils and their cutting plan. One zone corresponds to one loop and one manifold outlet.

Manifolds, heat pump and materials list

The plan assigns circuits to stainless steel manifolds and cabinets from the Morocco selection. The PE-RT loop fittings are included with the manifolds. If you also need an underfloor heating heat pump, the shortlist takes account of both heating and the requested DHW. The illustrated list shows product codes and quantities, PEX-AL-PEX connections and points to confirm with the installer.

A preliminary study to share with your installer

This free preliminary sizing tool helps you prepare an underfloor heating quotation. It does not replace a thermal and hydraulic study: the actual routing, floor heat output, pressure losses and settings still require validation. Professional mode lets you display the distributor's or installer's name on the printable proposal. Ressi supports equipment selection and your project in Morocco.

Practical answers to your questions

How many metres of pipe are needed per m²?

The pipe length depends on the laying spacing, the area actually heated and the connections to the manifold. The calculator factors these in when estimating quantities; the final laying plan still needs to be confirmed.

How do you choose the number of manifold outlets?

At least one outlet is needed per loop. The proposal uses identical manifolds and distributes the zones: for example, 13 zones result in two 7-outlet manifolds. The layout may justify other sizes with enough outlets in total.
